Platt Memorial Bridge in the City of Philadelphia. PennDOT is repairing and painting the Platt Bridge and its 90 approach spans to preserve the structure and keep it in sound condition.

ABOUT THE GEORGE C. PLATT MEMORIAL BRIDGE

The George C. Platt Memorial Bridge and its 90 approach spans carries four lanes of Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) across the Schuylkill River in Southwest Philadelphia. It was built in the late 1940's into the early 1950's. The bridge carries an average of 56,000 vehicles a day and is a key arterial route between Interstate 95 and Interstate 76.
